Originally set out as a deer park by King Henry VIII (1491-1547) in 1532, it was later landscaped by King James I of England (1566-1625). WebSt. James' Park is located to the north west of Newcastle city centre - a ten-minute walk from Newcastle Central Station and approximately five minutes from Monument Metro Station. There are is no available car park on matchdays, but there are a number of public car parks signposted clearly on arrival in Newcastle city centre.
